Sand/Finish—Wood Floor Finishing
Your floor can be restored to its original beauty through wood floor finishing. Sanding can remove most scratches and gouges from your high traffic areas such as wood staircases and family rooms. Not only is it possible to bring an old floor back to life, you can create a whole new look by staining it.
If you have French Country or Tuscan style décor, you can purchase reclaimed wood flooring or distressed wood flooring and have it sanded and stained. This will result in a custom “antique” look.
This can be a time-consuming process and the floor cannot be walked upon for a specified period of time, but is a great money-saving option if you are unhappy with your floor but do not necessarily want to replace it at this time.
If your floor is still in good condition but has numerous surface scratches, we can screen and recoat it to improve the look.
There are numerous types of finishes available. The most commonly used are modified tung oil, oil-based polyurethane and water-based polyurethane. There are also environmentally friendly wood flooring finishes available. Please call us for details.
